"Imagine That" serves as the second theme of our summer exhibition, Common Threads, investigating the different ways we express the ideas and stories that unite us all.
Throughout life, we are often encouraged to imagine what life could look like through a new perspective. In art, we discover how a single idea can remind us of an entire story. As I curated this collection, I reflected on the stories we grew up with and how deeply we held onto the feelings they inspired. I’m reminded every day of how much we live within our imaginations and of the joy we find through these visual interpretations.
We are privileged to imagine what life could be, what it once was, and what it all means to us. A single sculpture inspired by a beloved work of literature can remind us of the adventurous spirit we yearn for. A dreamlike painting can evoke a sense of wonder for places we long to bring to life. We seek these moments without even realizing it. Art has a way of revealing the metaphorical worlds we subconsciously create.
At Anticus, we have the privilege of celebrating artists whose work embraces the stories of our imagination, and we hope this collection brings a sense of enchantment into your home. Through imagination, we continue to create, inspire, and connect. I hope these artworks remind you of the stories that have shaped you.
